Script bank · Stage 4
Words — a deep well.
Long lists of fully decodable words, graded from the gentlest two-syllable open words up through closed syllables and blends. The rule for picking one: stay inside the syllables your child already owns, so every win comes from decoding, never guessing. Start at the top and only drop lower as the syllable matrix gets automatic.
Two parents, one script. The Spanish is the real thing; glosses and pronunciation hints toggle off for the native co-teacher.
Palabras
Junta las sílabas Join the syllables
Blending two syllables into a word. Show the syllables apart, read each, then slide them together and say it fast. ↗ on the playbook
Para juntar a la vista — read each piece, then blend
ma + má → mamámah + MAH → mah-MAHmom
me + sa → mesameh + sah → MEH-sahtable
so + pa → sopasoh + pah → SOH-pahsoup
pe + lo → pelopeh + loh → PEH-lohhair
ga + to → gatogah + toh → GAH-tohcat
lu + na → lunaloo + nah → LOO-nahmoon
Success looks like Your child reads a two-syllable word by blending, then says it again smoothly as one word.
